Meet The Authors
Tamara Leonard is a God-fearing woman, proud St. Maartener, retired Member of Parliament, and passionate entrepreneur whose journey continues to inspire many. Her path to becoming a children’s author began during one of the most challenging chapters of her life — her second battle with breast cancer. What could have been a time of defeat instead became a season of reflection, creativity, and divine purpose.
While on the road to recovery, Tamara discovered a new calling — to write stories that uplift, guide, and shape young minds. Drawing from her experiences as a mother and her deep faith in God, she began creating books rooted in morals, values, and lessons that have stood the test of time.
Born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Maarten, Tamara later pursued her education in the United States, graduating from Miami Dade Community College and DeVry University. Her life has been defined by resilience, hard work, and an unwavering belief that every challenge can be turned into an opportunity to serve others.
Through TamLeo Books, Tamara has turned her personal trials into a ministry of storytelling — inspiring children to dream, think, and grow with purpose. Her mission is simple yet powerful: to use stories as a light for the next generation, proving that with faith, perseverance, and love, even the hardest battles can lead to something beautiful.
